Drill barefoot?

An option not yet explored, wearing gloves on my feet was uncomfortable at best, also always wear shorts I am all about safety first.
Actually Safety First is my middle name and my parents argued about this for 9 months or so, Dad won, Dad worked in a mine in Virginia.

Also note that the start/stop switch is put in line with the center connector of the speed pot. This does away with the slow start feature.

I have seen numerous mentions of the slow start work around. Just wondering why that is such a bad thing? It's not like it takes 60 sec to come to speed is it? I would think the slow start would reduce stress on the control board by reducing starting current. Just curious
