I have several hand tools that have become magnatized and they drive me nuts. What kind of demag do you guys use for tools and tooling? I see several on Ebay, the flat plate style made in China being the cheapest and some of the USA made old stuff is pretty pricey.

Any suggestions.

The tools that are a nuisance for me when magnetized are fairly small that I use for clock repair work. I use my old transformer based soldering iron with a simple coil wound on a form. Totally reversible and can still be used as a soldering iron. Weller made a similar type.

I use a flat plate type. About a 5x10 work surface. I'm guessing it was built in the 40's from the look of it. Paid $50 for it from a Craigslist seller.

This looks like a pretty good deal:

I was looking at this very one earlier. Just made an offer on it.
Thanks Jim
