Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but life has been a bit hectic lately. It would seem simpler to bore and ream the inside than to turn the outside of a #5 down. I shall pursue it. Thanks again.

I had a Tida 4A for several years, I turned a 4 1/2 to 3 MT adapter for it. My 4A was a 10x30 lathe, I did not realize this until after I sold it.

Quasi, what did you think of the Tida? It seems like a decent lathe for the money. Parts seem to be similar to King and Jet. My guess is they bought the tooling when Tida went under.
