Its called a Huntsman because it hunts men.
I saw this out of the corner of my eye leap onto a fly that was on the countertop.
I've never seen them catch anything before but by gum it was fast, it seems they have been timed at 110 centimeters a second and they dont spin webs.
Non toxic to us and not aggressive either but still dont want it running over me.
Pity it doesnt get all the flies as are inundated in this heat and humidity.

Its leg span is about 5 inches.
If they are in your house it means there are other insects they like eating.
Now I know they can catch flies I dont mind them as much.
(still dont like them running over me)

Nice- we have a similar but smaller one here, the Mediterranean spider; zoropsis spinimana- a new arrival
Very handsome guy, likes indoors, about 2.5 inches across. I had one in my garage for a while, and another by the fridge where
the warm air comes out

I hate spiders. Come to think of it, I hate snakes.
Australia has so many deadly varmints. Snakes and spiders oh my.

I'm such a wimp :)
I had a tick burrowing into me the other day. My wife removed it. Yes, I'm watching the bite for signs.
I hate ticks too.
