Taper question

It is R8, not need to investigate further. You could tell it was R8 from the very first picture.
 
Thanks Mitch. That's what I thought, but my memory is a little fuzzy at this point. It's been a long time since learned about tapers and to be honest, I'm not really sure why I was pretty sure it was an R8. Wherever that info came from it was at least 25 years old.
