I have been watching several videos on YouTube of a steam powered machine shop. I really have enjoyed watching these.
His name is Dave Richards, and I'm not sure where his shop is. But it is a wonderful shop. It must be quite a sight to see with all of the shafts running, the smell of the boiler.
The one I watched last night he bored out a 10" cylinder on a sludge pump, with an electric powered mill. Then reworked an old crankshaft that was twisted and bent on his steam powered lathe.
He will work 3 machines at a time. He sets up his drill press with automatic feed, has his shaper making chips and turning something on the lathe.
Pretty cool stuff.
Cheers
Martin
