Sometimes on the older lathes a proper steady rest is just not available. What I have seen that works is to modify the base to fit what lathe you have.
Question is, are they close enough to be modified before I blow a couple hundred bucks? Hopefully, someone out there is familiar enough with both lathes to make an informed guess.
