Stainless steel cylinder. But what type of stainless?

Op mentioned pink/salmon color codes... I know there are a lot of color codes out there, but pink on stainless is more often than not 316.
I think you’re right. About a month ago I finally coded my supply because it was getting out of hand. I did my own spray paint codes and then marked with magic markers. But I had some 316 stainless from Grainger. Just 1/4” I purchased off of eBay but it was a pink color code. Still had the Grainger part number and it was def 316.

JRout - totally agree with you on 316 being a bear. It’s really next to impossible for me to thread that stuff. I got some 1-1/2” drops off of EBay. It was cheap and now I know why. God that stuff work hardens as soon as you look at it.
