Good job. Thankfully you sorted it and it was an easy fix with no harm/no foul.

Way to go!
 
to adjust the gears just run a piece of normal writing paper through the loose gears and than tighten the nuts that hold the gears.
In so doing you will have jut enough clearance between the gears .
