Setup Spacing For Holes To Be Drilled

Use spotter screws + 1 . I have had good luck with measuring to the same position on the holes which gives an approximate center to center measurement without the math or trying to adjust for thread depth. Obviously this should be done from the center punch hole for the first hole. I like Brino's method to improve accuracy.
Have a good day!

Blind hole spotters is what I use and they work fine. Purchased from eBay.

The use of those things is typically done in the wood trade. Could work for this thread question, but then you are still perplexed with iffy center punch marks and not with a finite measurement. A cordax measuring machine would be really nice to have, hugh! I don’t have one, so I grab my dial calipers and maybe a few thread examples and measure and math out the findings…Dave.
