Wow! More than twice as powerful as the motor on my mini mill, and less expensive, too. I think it would be overkill for my 7x12 lathe though...or it might just plain kill it

Keep in mind you can program a lot to make it less powerful. The acceleration, torque and max RPM can all be turned down. The $100, 750 watt might be enough for a 7x12?
