Behind the control panel there is a switch. Activated by the quill stop tube. What does this actually do? Does it work inconjunction with the power feed? There's a home brewed mount and the wires are stiff, and moves the flimsy mount.
so I'm looking at fixing that.

Ok, normally on, or normally off ?
I was hired on to fix all the older machines. Somehow they keep buggering up the switch. It's a battle, but I'm slowly winning.

Schematic? I would assume it would be NO unless actuated by the gear hitting it.

So after everything was dialed in, I'm moving the quill up and down, then checking the switch again, I see the bushing pushed up.
The tube that rides inside the bushing has snap rings to hold it in place, with maybe .032 movement against the switch.
I put a little pressure against the stop when pulling down the quill, and pushed that tube up.
I ran another series 2, and I never had this problem. Maybe age and abuse has taken it's toll on this machine?
I'll have to run it with velvet gloves on.
