Seeking opinions on chuck jaw repair

all to the same height and flatness on the ends of jaws?
If you are talking about the face of the jaws and NOT the chucking surface , sure ! I assume you're not worried about concentricity here ?

yes they have answered. Your not listening.
You cannot do what you want.
Thank you for your simple answer, that was the answer I was asking for. Thanks also to everyone who offered alternative processes, I am familiar with them but was hoping to find a solution that fits my resources. The lathe is 1100 miles away, so I was hoping to find a way to help my son with resources here in my shop. Grinding in place is not an option, you see. Thanks again to all who have replied.

Actually my choice of words was unclear, obviously the error would be on the chucking faces. Thank you for pointing this out.
