Hello! I'm new to the site. I live in the Seattle area & my machines include a 1978 10K, 1953ish 10L pedestal model, & a 1933 Junior 8.
I've been reading posts here awhile & really appreciate the collective knowledge.
So...
A few months back I picked up the Junior 8 & have been restoring it. It was found very dirty but otherwise in good mechanical & wear condition--with one big exception--severe headstock & spindle wear.
I've successfully line-bored the headstock for bronze bearings & was gonna re-use the original spindle, but I'm thinking I'd like to upgrade the spindle for the common 1-1/2 x 8 threads & slightly larger bore of the 9.
Anyone have a good spindle from a Junior 9" available to sell?
What I need is the pre-405 model type that has the separate gear that drives the reverse gears, the type that slips over the outboard end of the spindle. Not the later type where the reverse gear teeth are cut directly into (and are part of) the spindle.
I'm happy to negotiate a reasonable price if someone can help me out.
