If you have discovered the benefits of battery operated tools, you have to get one of these.
One of my co-workers told me about it.
Made in USA by S&K, it is a very handy gadget.
You have the M18 Impact Driver right?
You lock your tool bit in and off you go.
Hex drives, sockets or whatever lock on with the same type of pull back mechanism.
Go get one, you will not be sorry!

the SKU is in the Pic.

i have a hex driver with similar locking characteristics.
i also have a set of 1/4" drive extensions that have positive locking retention
not much worse than losing a socket deep inside of a machine :cautious:

That’s the ticket.
It blew my mind. How long have these been around?
They are game changers

I don't know how long they've been out but not too long, I don't think. I use them with this thing https://www.makitatools.com/products/details/TD022DSE and have an entire tool kit built on 1/4" drive stuff. I can do about 90% of the things I do with that kit. In fact, I just finished rebuilding this mower with that kit:

I think the small lithium ion impact driver is incredible!

That tool is one of the best tool purchases I have ever made. Between that and my VIM T-handles, I only use a ratchet if I have to. VIM's T-handles are indispensable for motorcycle guys, car guys, most guys; they are the best in class in my opinion.
