Received an 8" 3 jaw chuck with my new dividing head and just thinkin.....

you make a very good point. my other issue was looking at it as though the bolts were the sole support when in fact they are in shear with the registering shoulder caring a lions share of the load. Some times I get some involved in looking at the trees that I forget about the forest.
