I have an over the air TV antenna and just bought a HDHomerun 4K Flex. I'm using Channels DVR and It allows you to use a Raspberry Pi as a DVR for recording programs. So I machined up a case for my Raspberry Pi 4 and attached a 2TB USB hard drive. It works beautifully!
I had to edit my above comments to say that I'm actually using Channels with my HDHomerun. Channels has the software free to download and install on the Raspberry Pi. It's an easy process that basically allows the Raspberry Pi to boot off an attached USB hard drive that has the software installed. There are no micro SD cards involved except for the initial setup to get the Pi to boot from an attached USB hard drive.
