The online manual doesn't specify the type of oil to use in the ball oilers.

The printed one says "20w".

AutoParts sore doesn't carry it. I have a lot of 0w-20 and 10-30w. I've got way oil and gear oil.

Any suggestions?

From the manual:
Recommended lubricants:
Gearboxes: 75W80 gear oil.
Approximate quantities required:
  • Gearbox 14 oz
  • Apron 2 oz
  • Ball oilers: ISO 68 way oil, such as Mobil Vactra No. 2, or equivalent. (This is way oil)
  • Machine ways (dovetails): ISO 68 way oil, such as MobilVactra No. 2, or equivalent.
  • External change gears: light general purpose grease, NLGINo. 2, or equivalent.
  • Leadscrews: ISO 68 way oil, such as Mobil Vactra No. 2, or equivalent.

Thanks for the pointer to the text in the electronic manual. I could swear that it wasn't listed...but now I see it.

It was still bugging me that the printed manual said to use SAE 20 and the online manual said to use ISO 68. However, mystery solved: they are the same.

SAE-to-ISO
SAEISO/AW
10W32
15W or 20W46
20W68
30W100

ISO and SAE are standardized specifications that define oil weight.
