Plastic Barrel/drum Heating

Water heater elements can be had FREE with a bit of scrounging. Water heaters are scrapped because the tank leaks, the element (and the thermostat) is almost always still good.
 
Check craigs list for free hot tubs as well as with pool service companies.

Many have a small heater that is designed for pool water which is nasty stuff for infrastructure and often in good working order.

We got a control panel and heater for free at an estate sale last day so they are there. ..maybe place a wanted add stating you will haul away one for free.

The pump heater and filter can be used to heat and treat the water.

If you check at your local orange big box store, they sell a water heater rebuild kit and I'm pretty sure it comes with the electrical parts too.
