I need another/better bench grinder. Some of you may have looked at my post describing what I thought would be an upgrade to my 8" HF grinder. I tried it afterwards and all the tool rests that I replaced with heavier replacements made it vibrate MUCH WORSE! The cheezy pressed steel wheel surround that it attaches to is just TOO FLIMSY. I'm ready to place it in the "Projects for later" bin and move on.

This looks like a really good unit but I have no experience with the brand though I have heard of them. It's 3ph but that's shouldn't be an issue since I have a 7hp RPC already that powers the mill. The price sounds reasonable and the shipping is only $29.

Here it is.

What do you guys think? Would you recommend this unit at this price?

Thanks,

Dale

Use this enco, $85 grinder.

Sort of cheap, as there is a groove, other side of wheel, for snap ring.

That snap ring positions the plate, pushes against grinding wheel.

Most have a bored tube thingy between bearing and wheel.

So, when you tighten nut, got to be careful, as its just a snap ring.

Would definitely go with that palmgren, looks nice.

Don't use wire wheels without full face shield------ you can yank bristles
