Anybody working on rocket motors?

I'll start:

I'm working on aprototype of a hybrid motor unlike anything out there. Mine will have regenerative cooling (by oxidizer), thrust vector control, efficient throttling, multiple restart, and should not be subject to the same combustion instabilities as conventional hybrids. I'm in detailed design now (and will continue for the rest of the summer). Hoping to start cutting metal by fall.

Also, is anyone working on pumps that could be used for a liquid propellant?

where can you find a decent site selling model rocketry? i have looked but cant seem to find what im looking for. we used to have a shop near here called rocket science but they went tango uniform a long time ago. I have been wanting to find model rocket stuff to play with for a while, and I dont mean some of that rtf or almost rtf crap out there
 
I don't know about vendors local to you, but the SC Tripoly Prefecture (http://www.tripolisc.org) will almost certainly be able to help you.
Nationally, there are large number of vendors that will ship. Folks like Wildman (http://www.wildmanrocketry.com/), Apogee (http://www.apogeerockets.com/), Madcow (http://www.madcowrocketry.com/default.asp), Performance (http://www.performancerocketry.com/index.html), PML (http://www.publicmissiles.com/), and LOC (http://www.locprecision.com/) are likely to be able to supply whatever you need.

I have great aspirations to get back into rocketry; however, my plans were tenatively set to make solid-fuel composite motors. Please post as much as you can about your plans and such. You are headed into an area of great interest to me. I can be talked into most anything that big boys like to do.

Where are you located? I assume that you will go for a series of static tests. Where will you launch? Oh, what sort of thrust or ISP are you expecting? Etc...

Well, let's see:
- I'm in central NJ, in West Windsor/Princeton Junction area
- Yes, certainly. I might build a small motor first that I could sensibly test in my back yard (maybe 25 Lbf?). But then I expect to be able to test my full sized motor either at METRA in NY state or MDRA in Delaware, or both.
- I'll be teaming up with one or more of the METRA and MDRA folks for the rockets: I'll build the motor, they'll build the ship. And then will launch at the respective location
- As mentioned above, the first motor will likely be about 25 Lbf and probably about 200sec Isp. The next one will probably be about 100 Lbf, and hoping for 220-240 sec Isp. My simulations on RPA show that the propellant combination is good for about 320 sec tops @sea level at about 1000psi.

I see you're Georgia. Where do you folks launch down there? Is there a good Tripoly Prefecture?

Could you post some simple design drawings of what you currently have in mind for a build? I am interested in high thrust, high altitude rocketry with photo capability as well as video. I have been out of rockets since Estes was the big supplier back in the......Umm 70's (yeah, I'm that old and still playing with toys), but might be interested in doing some since I have a lathe and mill to do machine work and a plasma table that I can convert to a cutting table for carbon fibre and fiberglass too. Show us some examples of what youre up too, please. Thanks a ton!!!!

I'm not quite there yet. At the moment I'm still working on the patent application for it. As soon as I got that under way and it looks like the Patent Office is happy, I'll start focusing on final design. The other problem is that ITAR (http://pmddtc.state.gov/regulations_laws/itar_official.html , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Traffic_in_Arms_Regulations ) is a serious issue, as well. So I have to thread carefully. I'm trying to figure out how to share it, but it's not so easy, as I discovered :-(
