The conversation about bench shooting in the borescope thread made me want to bring this up. I bought a Springfield Arms M1A1 National Match rifle almost 20 years ago. Beautiful rifle, and it's my favorite battle rifle. Only thing is, it couldn't shoot factory ammo worth a damn. All over the target at 100yds. Even Black Hills ammo was this way.
I bought a set of RCBS X dies for my Dillon 650 and learned all about case trimming, headspace etc. My very first batch of hand loads shot 3/4" center to center at 100yds. I was hooked!
Yeah, and then life interfered, and I'm still waiting for a chance to take it out again. :cry: but benchrest would be hella fun. One of these days...
 
Been handloading for over 40 years. Great feeling when the round you assembled way out perform factory rounds. Currently working on loads for the 6.5x47 Lapua, getting close.........
