Old CMC lathe, any good?

I am thinking about buy this one:

$1400 CAD, ways looks good in photo, does it worth it?

Make sure and check out the head stock bearings. The ways look great for the age of the lathe.

It looks like a fairly large lathe with a decent swing, but it is old and appears to have a lot of miles on it. The ways might be quite worn near the headstock; you would want to do the quick test to get an idea: Snug the carriage lock til the carriage will just move then try to run it all the way to the tailstock without binding.
If you need to turn a lot of large parts this would be a good machine for that. It would be nice if it had a gap-bed but I don't think it does. The overhead drive system looks very large and bulky, it will be a beast to move.
