Good Morning and thanks for having me.
I bought what I think is a Model 111 Clausing lathe the other day, and I'm planning a return trip to bring it home. It is mounted to the original open-legged stand and the majority of parts and pieces are in totes and boxes. I need to decide which of my trailers to take on the trip so I have a couple questions if someone here can stab at an answer. This project fits perfectly in my "what an idiot" category, but I gave the guy some money for this lathe simply because I wanted "dickering" rights to the rest of the stuff he was selling that day. No I don't have pictures....
- About how much is this thing likely to weigh? 300ish?
- What could be overall length? My memory says 50-60 inches.
- Are those legs going to have mounting holes in the feet?
I want to lag all four corners to a pair of skids and anchor the assembly to my trailer. I've hauled plenty of old engines and tractors down the road, so I want a tight and balanced load. Thanks for any answers you're willing to provide.
