I have an older Taiwan made jet bandsaw, it's a wood model. I can pick up a 1hp 3 phase motor pretty affordable, looking to add a vfd so I can have a variable speed bandsaw and use it for things that the horizontal is not as good for. Any suggestions? I'd like something simple to hook up, reliable, and easy on the controls.

Thanks
Rich

the Teco Drives are nice and easy to set up
the inexpensive chinese Huanyang drive that i have on my 3hp lathe motor has held up .
it was easy to set up and install
Omron/Yaskawa make quality drives too, a little bit more involved to set up and tweak- but not difficult
Lenze drives are quality drives, but more involved to set up and tweak, not too difficult

Ud, thanks for the reply, I see a 1hp teco unit on ebay for around 90. I have read a number of posts that do mention it being user friendly. I'll check the other drives you have mentioned also, I thought I saw at least 1 Huanyang unit.
