Gentlemen/Ladies,
About a year ago a friend came and asked me if I could make patterns for some boiler handles. Being as I was a metal patternmaker in my working days I said yes but there would be a lot of time involved. He then asked if the patterns could be 3d printed. I said yes but as he already knew I didn't have a printer. He said no problem he would get one. A couple of weeks later he called and said that he had a printer and would bring it over. Which he did. It is a Creality CR10S V2. He purchased it used but it was, as far as I could tell) in nice shape with some options, a touch probe and a full lexan/plexiglass enclosure with a fan and filter.
Although I had done CAD modeling when I worked and created programs for the CNC machines this was a new adventure for me. I quickly found out that about the only place to learn anything was on Youtube so I would spend an hour on the Tube and an hour on the machine. Repeat about 100 times. I finally got the hang of it and started printing out a few things from Thingverse.
Jump ahead to the present. A friend who built and engine from my drawings said that he would like to build a Ford 289/302 working engine. I told him that when I built mine I never made formal drawings but had all my original sketches and measurements so I would start modeling it in Solidworks. It wasn't entirely for his benefit but it got me back into 3d modeling that I had been away from.
After about 200 hours or so I finally had nearly 60 model files for the engine so I made the .stl's and started printing. As I was still learning the printing aspect of this hobby not all the parts came out good the first time but eventually I solved the issues and marched forward.
Attached are some pictures of the engine, oh and by the way the T-5 transmission with gears.
This is printed with PLA plus at 195 extruder and 53 bed temperatures.

THAT is incredible!
I have only been working with SW for a couple of years (as a hobbyist) so I can appreciate the amount of time you put into just making the drawings in SW. Looks like your prints turned out awesome too. Thank you for sharing!!
Oh, I have owned my current Prusa Mk2.5s for five years but I am in the process of building a Voron 2.4r.

Wow...amazing work!
I was so happy when I printed a tool holder.... I'll let myself out...
