could someone please tell me what gears go on banjo of a 618 atlas lathe

Sorry I'm no help but your question will probably get answered where you post it. I just wanted to let you know if you click "Forum" instead of "General Machining Forums" & scrolling farther down the page there is a section for Atlas.

It depends. The gears are changed out to obtain different speeds on the lead screw. There should be a chart inside the gear cover with diagrams of the different gear configurations. The Atlas/Craftsman Manual of Lathe Operations explains gear setup very well.
