Need threading, boring bar recommendations

Thanks pontiac.......i was wondering just how important the inside tolerances are. Im thinking it all comes down to whats on the inside the baffffles
There have been some studies done, and there are books/papers that support the formulas you can find for the DIY route. Truthfully, as an implement, it functions as a sledgehammer, not a scalpel. Fancy flow channels and 1-piece baffles are built to attract a buyer's aesthetic sense. Any stack of baffles and spacers in a tube will net over 20 dB attenuation. A cutting edge, multithousand-dollar gold plated inconel brand-name waitlisted super suppressor is going to top out around 30 db. That's not a huge difference over a 160 dB report in reality. It's actually closer to the difference in noise level between standing 5 feet from the shooter and standing 10 feet from the shooter (6db reduction in sound pressure level over a doubled distance due to inverse square law). That's small potatoes, having any device vs no device makes the report significantly quieter than the difference between a fancy device and a crude one. So don't buy into the hype that you need to do this or that for a can to be any good. You can achieve good reductions by doing it your way, without CNC, and without fancy metals. Just bear that in mind when planning your thing!

Another point about threading full depth is that it is possible that the matching part might have a lead error preventing full engagement without having to be made a excessively loose fit.
