I need to finish up 1 last part of the bridgeport 815 surface grinder I bought and fixed up. Is there any particular type of tube use on the one-shot oilers? It's a can w/ a big handle to a junction block. I assume I need something oil resistant as well. It looks about 1/8th or so w/ brass fittings. I can post pics and measure if you need. The compression fitting clamp seems to review a tube that's pretty stiff so it must be a particular type I assume.

I'll search the archives here in a bit... just on a call and remembered I need to get this ordered before I go hit the 1045 steel this weekend. finally something besides the engraving I've been playing with.

TIA!

I think that's the same tubing that is used on automotive mechanical oil pressure gauges.

Just about any PVC or Teflon tubing should work Try Home Depot in the plumbing dept

McMaster Carr has a nice selection of this stuff. IMHO, you save so much time over searching stores and finding only 4 out of 5 things you need, I just order everything I need from them. I do live 30 miles from any large stores, those who live in town might feel differently.

Nylon tubing will work well. Available at most hardware or automotive stores.

Been awhile on this post - but today I did the fix up, clean up, and VFD install on the Bridgeport 815. All i need is say 10ft to restore 1 side of the one-shot from the distribution block over to the X Y way oil inlets on the left side. Both were broken off. I also need an oil cup. Both Amazon and McMaster stock them.

PVC lub rated: http://www.mcmaster.com/#tygon-tubing/=137qepy
Nylon 6- http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-nylon-6/6-tubes/=137qi4g

A source for all things lub upon machines. Also notes Nylon 6 as a transport.

Will probably go w/ the Nylon 6. Just thought I'd update w/ some actual product sources/specs.

Measure the OD of the old tubing. More than likely it is the old Bijur 5/32" OD tubing, which interchanges with 4mm OD tubing today. Most modern machine tools are rigged up with Bijur oiling systems installed on them. They were definitely used on Bridgeport mills and grinders. There's a lot of this stuff on eBay, too! You're on the right track using Nylon type 6 tubing.
