Need help/advice new old atlas is it worth it?

That heavy10 is looking very appetizing. Seems too good to be true after searching for similar

I sold a Heavy 10 to Weewill on here for $400 . The HLV-H has been on CL for 29 days . Tells me somethings up widthat . HLV-H s in good working order are 7G's and up . Keep your eyes open . And this Atlas went for $600 , can't remember if it was to someone on here or not .

It looks like a nice lathe for about 400.00 A lot of useless stuff included. I would try and find one with a threading gear box. See if he will let it go cheep and you can use it as a second lathe or a beginner lathe. Good luck. Al.

I think you can do better for the money. But it does look like it's been taken care of.
I'd suggest you keep looking, after reading a few dozen "which lathe should I buy" threads". There are probably a few hundred such threads. All say the same thing. Start with what you want to do with a lathe. Learn what lathe features are necessary for that work. Shop for a lathe that meets the criteria you identified. Starting with the lathe and working backwards is a surefire recipe for frustration. Good luck!
