I have a table-top mini band saw (6-3/8" wheels) sold by MicroMark. It's a solid saw, and has a lot to recommend it, including perfect (for me) size and variable-speed. I use this saw for wood, acrylic, styrene, and metal (mostly aluminum & brass, and occasionally mild steel).
BUT.... this thing chews through its non-standard-sized blades like there's no tomorrow. The blades are 41-7/8" and seem thinner than standard blades. Of course, the replacements are $$, and I don't like being held-hostage.
I've looked around and while I've seen a number of affordable 9" saws, they all seem focused on woodworking.

Here's what I'm looking for:
- upright saw with a table. While I will use this saw for cutting off metal material, it's primary purpose is as a traditional bandsaw, not just a cutoff saw.
- standard blades. I'm tired of being held hostage to a single source for blades
- no bigger than 9" (and that's really pushing it... ideally smaller). I have a very small shop, and not much bench space to spare.
- < $200.
