Moving a Hendey lathe

Been wrestling with the problem of moving a large (relatively speaking) Hendey lathe into my basement. I've been shooting video of the saga, and thought I'd share with the forum. As of today, the lathe is off the chip pan/legs, and is in a temporary shelter in the back yard. I will soon be making the attempt of getting down the bulkhead stairs. The shop is was in had several obstacles to overcome before I could get it out of there.

Parts 21 through 28 are up. Some tapering jig stuff, assembly of a Harbor freight shop crane to help move heavy parts around, and some video of me cleaning a mountain of crud out of the chip pan, and cleaning it up for painting:

Also look for my video "Hendey road trip" to see a nice old cone head I looked at that popped up on CL. Could of had this one for a little over scrap value, but had to pass it up.

I'm moving along with my Hendey lathe project, but see no signs of anyone following this thread at all, so I guess I'll stop posting links when I make new uploads.

Steve.

Hey Steve. I think people don't want to leave the forum to watch the video. Without even a teaser picture, people don't have enough interest to go watch.

I took the liberty of fixing your last video link above. In the reply box there is a "film strip" icon that you can use to put the link in. This allows the video to be watched directly on this page. You can do the same on future videos. Hopefully you will get some interest now.

Cool beans, I'll give it a try.

Thanks!

In Part 30 I get a gift in the mail, and start to ponder just what size my spindle is:

Hi Steve, For what it's worth I have been following along and watching your videos from the first Hedley move. I just found the link here a few days ago so I haven't had the time to watch them all but I am up to 21 where you tried out your new welder. I usually squeeze in two videos a day, so keep posting. I am enjoying the journey and hope to catch up soon:)).
