Hello I just purchased a Maximat7 with tools. I’m new to Lathes and Mills. I think I might be missing a few parts to hold my parts inside the Mill head. It has a taper and I have tapered chucks that fit into the head. But what keeps the tapered chucks from coming out?

The info you need is in the manual. I am attaching the user's manual and the parts breakdown. With this info, you can completely disassemble an Emco machine.

Yup, you're welcome. You have a good machine. We have an HM member, @Rockytime, who owns one but I haven't seen him on the forum for quite some time. You might try sending him a PM and see if he responds. Really good guy!

I believe it uses a Morse taper #2 and there should be a drawbar to hold the tooling in the spindle, which means the tool arbors need to have a threaded hole to receive the drawbar. Did you get collets and a collet chuck also?
The previous owner may have been using the mill head for drilling only hence the drill chucks with blind arbors, but for milling you need a retaining system for the cutting tools

Thanks Mark. I have lots of tools I have to go through. I did find spindles that use a draw bolt. My next days off I will look into it more. Lots of stuff to learn.

If you don't find the drawbar then you have a perfect lathe project to do! :cupcake:
You may have some trouble with the electrical push buttons, and possibly the shift forks in the headstock. I think there is also a fiber gear that sometimes gets stripped. The parts of course have not been available for decades, but they do show up on Ebay from time to time. There is/was a vendor named "Iwasamiller" who sells/sold a lot of Emco-Maier stuff

ps the whole Emco-Maier line are fantastic machines, you can do incredibly accurate work on them. Just ask Mikey about his Super 11
I've had an old Unimat DB-200 for years and I've done freaking everything with it
