Anyone know of where to buy The Machinist Bedside Reader third edition for a reasonable price? Any one have one for sale? I have found a source for the second one brand new if anyone needs one
 
Can't you order them from the author? That is how I purchased mine a number of years back.
 
You can't any more, and that's why the price keeps going up everytime I check it. Apparently the author went thru a nasty divorce that left his wife with rights to some part of the books, and he won't print them anymore because of that. His website still implies they're for sale, but you can't get them. Too bad, I'd really like a set.
 
They are very good books. I own the three volumes. Have had them for many years and I believe I gave about $16 each. I was really surprised to see the prices they are asking on Amazon.
 
Woooohaaa!! they're asking almost a grand for the three book set... All the advice in the world ain't worth that much.
 
At the moment all three are out of print. That is why the high price. According to this website they will be printed again. The price looks to be $130.00 for all of them.

You would have to look into the "Legal" side of all this, I know I don't have a clue about it. Maybe someone here knows...
