Looking for a lathe mentor in central MN

Hey all, I'm very new to machining, but have always had a passion for firearms. I would like to start rebarreling rifles and truing actions and will be buying my first lathe this spring. I have very little experience in machining but do have a lot of books on both machine operation and the practice of precision rifle smithing. I've got the theory down but would really like an experienced teacher if anyone around is willing.
