Lathe comparison - Near Future Purchase

Just wanted to say thanks! Picked up the Logan 200 that had been "restored". Bed has hardly any wear. Not sure it was really used. Everything moves smoothly, the gears look new. Got a live center, gear set, 3 and 4 jaw chuck, a collet chuck?, and a 4 way tool post for $800. I think i made out ok. Im sure ill have plenty more questions as I go.

Joe - yes I realize that. More asking why on some lathes its sticking way behind/above the lathe. Looks very out of place.

Late on the comeback, BO My logan 820 had a post Under the motor assembly And I assume the set up let the machine could be set on a desk/or cabinet that would not have to be so deep. Does your assemble hinge to the bed or have the post ?
Joe

Nice looking machine borjawil. Do you know when it was built? The serial number on the right hand end of the bed will
allow you to date it.
