I like that super low profile compound- reminds me of "the war of the worlds" somehow
I bet that machine would clean up real well, but the bed looks a bit worn under the rust
Pretty complete though, even has a thread dial and two chucks- fun fixer upper

I guess it's actually rust damage- look at the 4-jaw where it's resting on the ways- I can see what looks like deep pits or chunks on the front way
I wonder if that chuck was sitting there in that spot for a long time with a tarp over the machine outside? Sure looks that way

Cottage Grove, Oregon is a mighty raimy place! I also noticed that the "lathe" (such as it is) is next to a bulk container placarded with code 3264. That's "corrosive liquid, acidic, inorganic." Fumes from the container might well have contributed to some of the rust, eh wot?
