Large fly cutter

Here's one I made. It is a 2" thick X 6.75" OD piece of 4140 on a 1.25" R8 face mill holder. It uses a 5/8" lathe tool with various insert styles and I use another 5/8 tool with no insert for balance. It can extend out past 8" to do a big block Chevy head in one pass. It leaves an amazing finish.

Now this is or was my original plan fir a cutter. The commercial tool holders with replacement inserts seems like a good idea.
Then I started worrying about chipping the carbide so I went back to the round 3/8” HSS blank.
I cut it down to 6 7/8”
