small engine guy's

how about removing:

1 balance counter shafts

2 intake valve compression release

3 governor

if your gonna to run above 4000rpm then you can get away with removing the counter balance shaft and gears, below that its not gonna run right, according to the manual:thinking:Mac

irish

keep in mind

this engine will get run once in a blue moon.

it's ok if it shakes a little.:)

i can tell you want me to do this.:)

none of this increases horsepower.

i think a little nitro methane will take care of that.:)

just a little. i'd say about 1 to 10 ratio.

ah ok, so you are modding this engine, i know nothing about modding these little thangs other than shaving a head on a clinton one time it ran good about the first 25 yrds well you know the rest lol:biggrin:Mac

just so you know the flywheels on the kohler are very brittle, at high rpms with a little vibration you never know:thinking:mac

woody

no. milling head on a flathead doesn't sound like a real good idea.:)

when i do the 'taking crank out' routine.

will i actually be able to see this stuff i've been talking about?

right now with pan off i see nothing except crank.

Have A Nice Day!

yes you will, and the side cover you should have one for points and valve springs and lifters:biggrin:Mac

actually the straight 8 buick flat head was the best flat head to shave the heads on, we had one in the early 60s that the local police could never catch lol, my pappy used to run that clear stuff around the hills of tennesee lol:lmao:Mac

manny

points.

what car points can be put in the Kohler?

they look like the most common Mopar points.
