hi i just bought a mill drill and the table is 9.5 x 32 and im looking for a vise to put on it . the t nuts are 5/8 and any of the vises i find are 6 inch that would handle the 1/2 bolt to 5/8 t nuts. is the 6 inch vise to big for for this machine because the 5 inch vise is 3/8 bolts and smaller t nuts . what would be a good vise brand for this . I have looked at a lot of them and get confused . i see the tegara that shars has looks nice and the glacern vise looks nice . they bboth have 6 wide x 9 inch jaw openings .
thanks
Pat

I have a 4" Glacern on my 9 x 32, this is a 6" Kurt, and it takes up too much real estate on the table, for me anyway.

For reference, this is my 5” on 9.5x32 table.
T nuts are 5/8.
I’ve had this knock-off for couple yrs, & find it very accurate.
Maybe I just got a good one, dunno....

As mentioned, and shown above the 6" vise is likely to look/feel wrong on your mill. The 5" is what I use and if you cant find one with 1/2-5/8" slots, you have the right tool to make them bigger. If you need a vise larger than 5" you may want to look into altrenative work-holding or live with the obstacle to the hand wheels as shown above. Hitting your knuckles every time you move the table in and out gets old quickly
