Amongst the accessories I got with my lathe and mill I have 2 boxes of Jacobs rubber flex collets. 11 collets to 1 3/8, 6 rubber plugs for short stock I believe. 900 series- one green metal box and one red metal box. Boxes are certainly vintage but the collets dont show any signs of usage to my untrained eye. After a bit of research I'm quite sure I will never buy a chuck for them and studying trying to rig some kind of holder and nut to use them in any kind of fixture like you guys have for your 5c collets doesn't seem feasible at all. If anyone is interested in them I'm open to trade them for about anything. Metric R8 collets, 5C collets, 5C block(s), 5/8 or 3/4 boring bars, R8 boring head and DT indicator are things I still need to acquire if you have spares. What else you got that would look good with my Logan 400 , RF30 or Asian 8X14?

What's your spindle mount by chance ?

That's another issue. The machine has 1 1/2"-8 threaded mount but has a threaded adapter on it- (2 1/4 or 2 1/2-8 as I recall) with a threaded back plate for the 4 jaw chuck. So far I havent been able to get the adapter off without destroying it. I probably need to machine it off and then make a new back plate for the 4 jaw I'm using on it. Then I'd be able to also use the 3 jaw and face plate that came with it. For collet use, I think it only has 7/8 through bore.

FWIW , I started a thread down in the FOR TRADE section about all these different back plates and chucks . I think we all have items we can't use and maybe others can . I've got a couple chucks and collet sets as it is . I also have alot of what you're looking for , I'm thinking on this for a day or two . ;)

Oh, and my wife says the green and red boxes I think I have are grey and green.

The chuck that takes those collets is too big in diameter for any small lathe, it has a large diameter handwheel for closing that is about 10 or 12" diameter. A smaller unit that will fit smaller lathes takes an entirely different collet.

I knew the bore on mine was too small but didn’t consider the size of the hand wheel. I’ve got a bunch of oversized stuff with these machines. 3/4 and larger tools and holders. I’ll get some more pics and put on the trade sub page next week if anyone is interested.
