I believe my best option is to save the chuck for the metal lathe that I will be buying in the near future.
Probably better to send the Albrecht to me and I will send you one of my beaters that will fit your drill press...I believe my best option is to save the chuck for the metal lathe that I will be buying in the near future.
.I'd rather send you the drill press than the chuck, lol.Probably better to send the Albrecht to me and I will send you one of my beaters that will fit your drill press...
I'll trade you for my drill press, it is nothing special, 1986 Enco 17" floor model, still just as "good" as the day I bought it in '86..I'd rather send you the drill press than the chuck, lol.
And most likely will cost a lot for what it is.A small precision adapter with inside and outside tapers over the entire length, hardened to take the loads, and then finish ground to fit correctly, is not a quick and easy project...
By the way, Ken -- Bill, bfd, is a friend of mine, we have a little informal machinist group in the area and we are both members... Bill is a really nice guy, and has done some really amazing things in his long machining career, including sending you a nice Albrecht chuck! And most likely will cost a lot for what it is.
I couldn't agree more, there's no doubt in my mind about his kindness toward me , I was a complete stranger to him with not much history on this site.By the way, Ken -- Bill, bfd, is a friend of mine, we have a little informal machinist group in the area and we are both members...
