I might be a bit dumb and impressionable

I watched this video.

Reaming starts at 35 minutes.

Then I bought this on Ebay.

I had never seen a guided adjustable reamer and I could see how a set like this could come in handy for reaming and aligning a couple holes, especially pressed in bushings that might not be perfectly aligned after pressing.

It is absolutely true that I might never use them, but they were only $58 shipped. I've wasted more money on much dumber stuff. It just adds to my capabilities.

Okay. You guys can make fun of me now.... lol:grin:

That dude is great. I didn’t watch your linked video, but if he said I needed a ketchup popsicle to go with my white gloves, I’d probably be thinking it over pretty hard. Lol

23:50 well use the one with less rust...

I also have two of that same tap handle, one rusty and one pristine.

Got the nice one for $10 as a flea market and the rusty one for $5 at the same place.

I bought the rusty one to use at work so I could keep the nice one at home to keep it nice.

I bought a set of those reamers about 30 years ago. They do the job, but are extremely finicky to adjust. In most cases it takes longer to adjust them than it does to ream the hole

In the scheme of things I much prefer the non adjustable spiral ones. In the 30 years I’ve had the adjustable ones I’ve only used them a couple dozen times

I have a set of adjustables. Super handy! Yes, fiddly to adjust, but really slick for "I want this to -just- fit thos bore

If I use them once I'll be ecstatic. Lol.

These are guided so they can align holes, which is not as doable with standard reamers. That's why I bought them.

gotta say I have never had a problem aligning a reamer. BUT I am not doing steering knuckles and king pins.

I received the guided reamer set today. It will need a lot of cleaning and wire wheel work staying clear of the blades. Two of the guides were damaged enough that I had to repair them so they will slip over the nut the way they are designed to.

The blades are all sharp and ready for use. I'm pretty excited that they will turn out quite nice.
