How to press fit a pin into a hole ?

Another thought.

For close press fit it must be correct angle.

While in the machine that performs the final cut, place the pin in the chuck and get it started in the hole.

Making a pin holder is useful to get it started square. Chuck of metal with a blind or through hole set so you can stack.out at the right press depth.
Especially useful for shrink fits.

0.001 to 0.002" per inch of diameter is an easy press. If it's worrying you, go ahead and make a scrap part and press it! It will lower you stress level!

Not for everyone, but generally reamed holes are through holes. Instead of buying undersize reamers just run them in reverse and stone a slight taper on them. Adjust the fit by the depth you ream.
