Does anyone know why annular cutter sets come in such odd sizes? I recently bought a 6pc set and the sizes were 7/16, 9/16, 11/16, 13/16,15/16 and 1 1/16. A lot of the import sets seem to be the same, no 5/8, 3/4, 7/8 or1”

I would definitely be open to an annular cutter. I don't really need a whole set though and it's unlikely that I'll be knocking out holes this size again anytime soon. Anyone have experience getting them off the various dubious Chinese vendors? Looks like I could get a 65mm cutter for $40.

I'm still planning on finishing the holes with an endmill due to some other factors on this part, so undersize is okay on the cutter.

WAG on my part but if drilling bolt holes you don't want a 1/2" hole for a 1/2" bolt, so the 1/16" larger sizes for main stream bolts.

Looks like I could get a 65mm cutter for $40.

why not give it a try?
