Help with DRO and radius function

My first attempt to use the Easson 12c DRO for a YZ radius on the mill. Having a heck of a time getting DRO programmed. I'm using the simple R function. I get everything programmed in as the manual say's but upon last entry, I get "R is outside of Z limit". I think it's related to how the axis directions are set. I can move Z in both directions and the out of Z limit never changes. Seems the Easson DRO wants non-standard axis directions. I'm thinking I need to reverse the Z axis direction. I have used the bolt circle function and it works correctly. And if I remember correctly I've done a radius in the XY plane and it worked but It didn't match the pattern I chose in the simpIe arc diagrams. I've attached a page from the Easson manual.
