Hardinge table feed problem

I posted this in the general machining section which I guess was a mistake.

On my TM table feed, the drive shaft spins but I can't get it to engage, and move the table. The Engagement lever seem to freely move for horizontal to almost vertical but is stopped from going completely vertical by a metal stop protruding from the power feed box. I have tried to push this block in to no avail, any suggestions?

I presume this "stop" is the front end of the feed box casting? If so, it moves upward to engage the half-nut on the lead screw. The vertical lever on the front of the table simply holds the half nut up, until the lever hits an adjustable stop on the front of the table which knocks it out of vertical, disengaging the nut.
