I'm going to an auction Saturday. Another machinist selling off his shop. There is a Hardinge HLV 10x20 in the auction. It has a collet closer and collets, and supposedly has a bunch more tooling to go with it. This one isn't a turret lathe; it has a compound and tailstock. It's not something I'm in the market for, but I thought I'd see if anybody here is interested in the machine. Where this auction is, historically, machine tools go cheap. Of course, that's no guarantee, but there just aren't that many people interested in them around here.

If you're in Texas and interested, let me know. If anybody is in contact with Steve Watkins, you might let him know.

Keep us posted how it goes today . :)

There was a guy at the auction that knew a bit about lathes. He got it for $4,000. Still a good deal, but a bit more than I could afford to spend. Nice Bridgeport with DRO and a pile of tooling went for $4,900.
