Graver rest for X2 Mini Lathe

The other folks besides clock makers that use gravers are gun smiths. All that fancy scroll work and inlay you see on expensive shotguns is made with gravers.
Pretty good chance gravers are cheaper from a place like Midway or Brownells than a clock supplier as well.
For anything up to mild steel, another source for this type of tool on the lathe are mcro-lathe tools used in woodworking. The good ones will be HSS, and have nice handles. I used to turn brass on my very ancient Walker Turner wood lathe using plain old woodworking tools. Using the skew was always pretty scary, but scrapers work really well, as do turning gouges. Made everything from pool queue fitting to bed post finials
