Got starting amps?

Is that like 200hp starting?
 
That's a bunch of amps. Is that by chance at a nuclear power plant ?

Oh, sorry. That was a realtime trace on a Reactor Coolant Pump start, 1 of 4.
IIRC 8900 starting HP, 7000 Running. Nominal 100,000 gpm. They have a massive flywheel for multiple complicated reasons with an anti-reverse rotation pawl, double opposed axial kingsbury thrust bearings with a little high pressure pump for starting.
 
May have to get one of those for the BIG block. Mike
